IU nuclear physics and CEEM recent PhD graduate Lance Garrison has been awarded a postdoctoral fellowship position with the National Nuclear Security Administration Graduate Fellowship Program. Lance will work for one year in the Office of Defense Nuclear Nonproliferation Research and Development at the Department of Energy headquarters in Washington, DC.
In this position, he will review research proposals and advise policymakers on nuclear nonproliferation issues. Lance will most likely focus on nuclear material detection technology and research, a natural application of the expertise he developed at CEEM while working with Rex Tayloe on underground neutron research with the SciBath detector.
